Analisis Faktor Internal Dan Eksternal Pada Kemampuan Public Speaking Siswa MAN 1 Lampung Timur

Public speaking ability is an essential competence for students in developing self-confidence, courage to express opinions, and readiness to face academic and social demands. However, in practice, many students still experience difficulties in speaking in front of audiences, such as anxiety, lack of confidence, and limited speaking experience. This issue is also found among students of MAN 1 Lampung Timur, making it necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the factors influencing their public speaking skills. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors affecting the public speaking ability of students at MAN 1 Lampung Timur. This research employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, and students of MAN 1 Lampung Timur. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by source triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that internal factors influencing students’ public speaking ability include speaking experience, anxiety and fear, past trauma, and lack of mastery of the material. In addition, external factors include school support, the role of teachers in the learning process, and a supportive peer environment. In conclusion, students’ public speaking ability at MAN 1 Lampung Timur is influenced by a combination of interconnected internal and external factors. Positive environmental support, along with increased experience and mastery of material, plays a crucial role in developing effective public speaking skills.
