Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Ummi method in improving students' ability to read the Qur'an properly and correctly. In addition, this study also aims to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of this method in Qur'an educational institutions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and managers of the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA). The results show that the Ummi method is implemented through the talaqqi approach, habituation, and exemplary behavior that emphasizes tartil reading, correct makhraj, and etiquette towards the Qur'an. Supporting factors for the success of this method include teachers, parental support, and adequate learning facilities. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors are limited learning time and differences in students' basic abilities. Overall, the implementation of the Ummi method has proven effective in improving the quality of reading and motivation to learn the Qur'an in students.
