Abstract

 

This study discusses the impact of the digitalization of religious activities on the development of character education in the modern era. The advancement of information technology has transformed how communities access and conduct religious practices, which in turn affects the formation of students’ character values. This research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis to explore various forms of digitalized religious activities—such as online sermons, worship applications, and religious content on social media—and their implications for values like religiosity, discipline, responsibility, and tolerance. The findings indicate that digitalization can serve as an effective medium to strengthen character education when used wisely, supported by families, schools, and communities. However, challenges remain in content filtering and maintaining active engagement to ensure that character-building goals are not distorted
