Efektivitas Program Konseling Pra-Nikah dalam Mengurangi Konflik Rumah Tangga: Studi Perbandingan di Indonesia, Malaysia, dan Uni Emirat Arab

This study addresses the high divorce rates as indicators of marital conflict in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Premarital counseling programs in these three countries were analyzed to evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing marital stability and reducing household conflicts. A comparative literature review approach was employed, utilizing data from prior studies on the implementation and outcomes of premarital counseling programs. The findings reveal that Malaysia employs the most effective approach, integrating psychological aspects, conflict simulations, and faith-based education. This approach significantly reduced divorce rates, particularly in multi-ethnic communities. Indonesia emphasizes religious values through programs such as Bimbingan Perkawinan and Pusaka Sakinah, which are effective in foundational preparation but less so in addressing specific conflicts. In the UAE, a focus on local cultural values and gender roles has been effective for Emirati couples but less relevant for expatriate communities. In conclusion, premarital counseling programs hold substantial potential to enhance marital stability if tailored to the cultural and social contexts of each country. This study highlights the importance of adaptive approaches to improve the effectiveness of such programs across diverse societies.
