Perbandingan Pendidikan Karakter Indonesia dan Jepang (Literatur Review)

The purpose of this literature review is to compare character education in Indonesia and Japan as well as the application of Japanese character education in Indonesia. The literature review process starts from searching for articles using the Google Scholar search engine with the publication year 2015-2023 and the full text can be accessed in pdf format. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review method. Based on the literature review, a comparison of characters in Indonesia and Japan found differences in terms of values. Japanese character values are Moderation, perseverance, courage, sincerity, freedom and respect, self-improvement, love of truth, good manners, consideration and kindness, friendship, grace and respect, humility, respect for nature, respect for life, Aesthetic sensitivity, nobility, community duties, justice, group participation and responsibility, respect for traditions and love of the nation, as well as respect for other cultures. Indonesian character values are religious, honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard working, creative, independent, democratic, curious, friendly spirit, love for the homeland, and respecting achievements, friendly and communicative, love peace, like to read, care about the environment, caring. social, and responsibility. The application of Japanese character education in Indonesia is the implementation of the Kikigaki program to improve cultural education, the addition of special character subjects and an Environmental Safety Map in Japanese terms called Chiiki anzen Mappu.
