Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the type of Arabic language interference that is often carried out by female students in class X Science at the Ibnu Qoyyim Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. And to find out the cause of interference. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, and uses data collection techniques in the form of recording techniques, interviews, observations, face-to-face techniques, note-taking techniques. At the data analysis stage, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method, one of which was to examine the data in the form of the insha' and muhadasah santriwati assignments in which linguistic aspects (interference occurring) had been found which were influenced, among other things, by the first language. The results that have been obtained are interference that occurs in female students at the Ibnu Qoyyim Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta, which is related to various linguistic levels, including morphology, phonology, syntax, lexical, and semantics. Researchers focus on interference related to aspects of language only, namely aspects of morphology, phonology and syntax. Based on this, it was found that there were interferences of command sentences in Mah?rah Kit?bah and Kal?m which were often carried out by female students, namely 14 Mah?rah Kit?bah interferences in Arabic, and 43 Mah?rah Kal?m interferences which were often carried out by female students of class X Science at the Ibnu Qoyyim Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. Based on the interference data obtained by the author, there are several factors that have influenced the interference of Arabic in both the Mah?rah Kit?bah and Kal?m which are often used by female students. It was found that a very significant interference factor in the use of Arabic was the equating of the use of the mother tongue (Indonesian) with Arabic itself.
