Manajemen Stratejik Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Kompetensi Sosial Guru di SMK Negeri 6 Garut

The article aims to describe the principal's strategy in improving the social competence of teachers, but there are still many teachers who are not optimal in communicating well. This social competence also influences the formation of student character and influences relations with the community. This type of research includes qualitative research, which produces data and is analyzed using a descriptive method adapted to SMK Negeri 6 Garut. Data collected using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The results of this study, that the principal's strategy in improving the social competence of teachers at SMK Negeri 6 Garut is a collaborative strategy. And in improving the social competence of teachers, the principal includes teachers in MGMP, Workshops and IT Development. Not only that, once a month the principal holds a meeting and evaluates and involves teachers in community activities, namely Istighosah. That way the teacher can add insight and establish good friendships, thus increasing interaction relationships to the maximum. In accordance with the principal's strategy, there are several factors that influence the teacher's social competence. The factors that influence teacher social competency are the factors of educational background for each teacher, teacher age, experience in learning, internal influences and environmental conditions.
