Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of teacher and student assertive speech acts in indonesia language learning in the interaction of teachers and students in Indonesia language learning at Bina Mulya High School. This research method is a qualitative descriptive method with the aim of obtaining an objective description of the speech of teachers and students in interacting when learning begins. The data collection techniqes used are free listening techniques, recording techniques, and recording technique. The data collection techniques are used by researcher to obtain complete data about the types of assertive speech acts. The researcher conducted the analysis including four stages: identification, classification, interpretation, and report. The  results of this study prove that every between the speaker and the speaker and the speaking partner will be successful if the speaking partner is able to understand the meaning and meaning that as been conveyed by the speaker. Understanding the context of the situation of the speakers and speech partners can reduce the misinterpretation of the intent of the speech.
