The purpose of this research is to find out the characteristics of the theory of multiple intelligences and their implementation in learning in elementary schools (SD). The research method used is a literature study. Data collection was carried out by reviewing and analyzing various published literature, both in the form of books and scientific articles. The results showed that multiple intelligences were divided into eight, namely linguistics, mathematical logic, visual-spatial, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. The application of multiple intelligences in learning in elementary schools can be done using learning methods that vary according to the characteristics of the intelligence of students. Learning must be designed in such a way that it can facilitate and develop the various potentials and intelligence of students optimally.
